PREQUALIFICATION
 
The first step you should take when buying a home is to complete prequalification with a lender.  This will allow you to determine what type of loan products are available to you, what your price range should be and what your monthly mortgage payment would be.

3.  Social Security number
4.  Date of birth
 
WHERE YOU LIVE:
4.  Present address (if less than 2 years at this address, all addresses for last 2 years)
5.  If you rent:  Landlord name, number, amount of rent
6.  If you own:  Type of property, market value, balance remaining on all mortgages, are you planning to rent or sell?
 
WHERE YOU WORK:
7.  Employer name, address & dates (from - to)
8.  Previous employer (if less than 2 years at present job)
9.  Gross monthly income (pre-tax income) including overtime, bonus, etc.
 
WHERE YOU BANK:
10.  Name of bank, account type & balance
11.  Any other assets you may have & the balance (401K, stocks, etc)
 
 
If you are planning to buy the home & qualify with another individual (spouse, partner, relative, etc.) please make sure to include answers to the above questions for both of you.
